Measure & Map
We are proud to feature WaveScan WaveFront® technology to measure and map each patient's individual cornea to prepare your vision for treatment. WaveScan technology was first developed by scientists for use in high-powered telescopes to help reduce distortions. We use the same sophisticated technology to"capture" your individual prescription, much like a fingerprint of your eye, and the aberrations that are unique to your vision. This enables LASIK laser eye treatment to be custom-tailored to the patient. In fact, the information we gather is 25 times more accurate than the standard testing used to measure your prescription for glasses and contacts.
One of Colorado's most Advanced Blade-Free LASIK Technologies
Because we're always at the forefront of technology and surgical techniques, every patient at Spivack Vision Center receives an all-laser, blade-free treatment. Replacing the traditional bladed approach, we have invested in the fastest, most advanced iFS™ IntraLase® System for the ultimate in safety, precision and comfort.
With the iFS™ IntraLase® the corneal flap is created in the first step of the procedure with the computer-guided precision of a cool beam laser. This technology delivers micron-level accuracy much greater than the abilities of the microkeratome (blade approach) for more precise and consistent flap thickness — which is critical for achieving your best possible outcome. Prior to the Intralase femtosecond laser the microkeratome was used to create the corneal flap. Although the microkeratome performed good LASIK surgery, ophthalmologists found that it was more likely to cause flap complications. Unlike the microkeratome the Intralase technology us uniquely able to program the dimensions of your flap based on what is best for a somebody's personal vision.
Because the laser can be programmed to determine specific, personalized parameters, patients with various eye conditions who were previously unable to receive LASIK treatment may now be candidates for Blade-Free Custom LASIK at Spivack Vision Center.
In addition, compared to the use of a microkeratome, IntraLase® technology makes LASIK a safer and more successful procedure with fewer complications. The precision of a laser provides for increased flap stability and can significantly decrease the risk of healing complications. Safety is something that should play a role in your decision on where to get LASIK surgery and is one of the reasons that Spivack Vision Center decided to invest in this LASIK technology. More than 1 million people have had LASIK with the Intralase femtosecond laser. if you seeking the best Denver LASIK experience we feel that our safety, technology and exceptional patient care will be for you.
